Rabbi David OstrikerRabbi Ostriker received his Orthodox Semicha (Rabbinic Ordination) in 2010 and is looking forward to continued Torah learning. He has served as the senior consultant to CTS’s “Messages”. Ostriker has served on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, and is a past Chair of the Canadian Independent Film Caucus. He is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and is a lifetime member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. He is a founding Board Member of Toronto Talmud Torah school. Ostriker serves on the Board of Directors of Independent World Television, “The Real News”. He is a founder of the Riverdale Jewish Community. In Kosher Tube David Ostriker has found the opportunity to use his forty years of media experience to make this world a better place. Rabbi Bernie Moskoff Director, Campus Outreach for Ohr Somayach Canada, Bernie and his wife Michal happily maintain an “open-house policy” welcoming students for Shabbos and learning on an ongoing basis. As Director, of Campus Outreach, Bernie is a spiritual guide and a resource for University students who seek to develop their knowledge of Judaism. He leads programs that include retreats, trips around the world, classes, social events, and, of course, Shabbatons. Bernie completed his Semicha (Rabbinic Ordination) in Jerusalem and completed his Bachelors Degree in Business & Political Science at York University. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Toronto Talmud Torah elementary school. Ms Tanya Hutchens Tanya Hutchens spent more than a decade serving as a highly experienced paralegal and President of Gold Star Legal Services in Toronto. From 1992 until 2004, Hutchens gained valuable professional practice handling a mass of multifaceted legal cases. She gained permission to appear before the Divisional Court of the Court of Appeal, where she represented thousands of tenants in landlord and tenant disputes.Tanya Hutchens dedicates a large portion of her energy and focus toward community service and involvement. Tanya Hutchens is contributor to hundreds of local and national charities, including the SPCA of Ontario, MS Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Renascent Foundation. In addition to her sponsorship, Tanya Hutchens also volunteers training women in self-defense across her local community. |  | Rabbinic Advisory Board HaRav Dovid Schochet Rav Dovid Schochet serves as the President of Vaad Ha Rabbonim (Orthodox Rabbinate) of Ontario, as well as the Chief Rabbi of the Canadian Lubavitch Community. With his analytical yet warm approach to unique questions that come his way, Rav Schochet continues to help thousands of people throughout the world. In addition, Rav Schochet is one of the three senior judges of the Central Lubavitch Beth Din servicing Chabad communities throughout North America. In this capacity he travels extensively examining prospective Rabbinic students as they seek to achieve ordination. In his travels the Rav also deals with various complex issues and adjudicates disputes concerning Jewish law. Rav Eliezer Breitowitz Rosh HaYeshiva (Dean) of Yeshiva Darchei Torah. Previously, Founder and Dean of the Kollel and Mesivta in San Diego, California; as well the former Educational Director of Ohr Somayach. Rav Benjamin Hecht Rabbi Hecht the Founding Director of NISHMA.org, is recognized throughout North America and Israel for his study, insights and perspectives in the fields of Torah law and ethics. He serves as the editor of NISHMA's various publications and writes prolifically on Jewish thought and its interaction with the world political scene and the human condition. His work has been published internationally, including in The Toronto Globe and Mail, The Jewish Press and The Canadian Jewish News, and Rabbi Hecht has a regular monthly column in the Jewish Tribune. In addition to his rabbinical ordination, he holds degrees in law, psychology and business. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982. |  | Founding Committee Rabbi Glenn Black Glenn Black is the director of the NCSY Canada, the Orthodox Union’s (OU) National Conference of Synagogue Youth, the world’s largest Jewish youth program. Rabbi Black is Canada’s expert on outreach to high-school age children. Rabbi Black is constantly coming up with innovative and creative ways to package the NCSY experience. From the Canada Experience for Girls Camp, to the Mission to Washington, D.C., his skilled touch can be seen in every aspect of his region's extraordinary growth. OU President Mandell I. Ganchrow, M.D., explained, “Rabbi Black ... has demonstrated tireless dedication to the youth of NCSY and has provided a supreme example of Torah scholarship. Dr. Michael Kigel Producer and host of ten seasons of “Passages” and Messages” (CTS). Over the years, Dr. Kigel has also been a faculty member of Jewish Studies and Philosophy departments at York University, Queen’s University and, most recently, the University of Waterloo. He has published a number of translations and essays about Jewish thought. In early 2008 Dr. Kigel accepted the post of Dean of the Jewish Leadership Program at the Lauder Business School, Vienna, Austria. He will continue to produce programming for KosherTube and CTS. Dr. Kigel’s relocation to Vienna will broaden KosherTube’s European horizons. Rev David Mainse Rev Mainse was born in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec. He began his work in television in 1962 with a weekly edition called “Crossroads”. In 1977 he began “100 Huntley Street”. In 1982 Rev. Mainse established the Emergency Response and Development Fund (ERDF) which has disbursed over $15 million to humanitarian and long-term sustainable development projects worldwide. In 1998, the Canadian Radio and Television Commission granted Rev. Mainse a license to operate the Crossroads Television System (CTS) where he is a credible voice for Canadian Christians and promotes an open and respectful dialogue of faith among all citizens. Ernest M. von Simson Ernie is a Director of Arcsight, BDNA, Optaros, and advises several other private technology companies. He was co-founder of the Research Board where he directed the professional staff into examinations of evolving business models, advanced technology, business applications and IT best practices. He holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.B.A. from New York University. His articles have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, Computerworld and Fortune. Naomi O. Seligman Naomi is a Director of Akamai Technologies, Dun and Bradstreet, and Oracle Corporation. She is a Trustee of the Boston Science Museum. She was co-founder of the Research Board, a private sector institution sponsored by one hundred CIOs from the largest companies in North America and Europe. She received a B.A. with high honors from Vassar College and a graduate degree from the London School of Economics |
